 dcppA-assim (2 X 30 members, 1950-2018)

IMPORTANT: 
The DCPP experiments comprise two sets of simulations (i1 and i2) that were 
performed with the exact same model system but differing assimilation choices. 
For the dcppA-assim "i1" simulations (with variant labels r*i1p1f1), anomaly 
assimilation of SST and T/S profile observations into the ocean 
component using 1980-2010 as climatological reference is applied.  
For the dcppA-assim "i2" simulations (with variant labels r*i2p1f1), anomaly 
assimilation of SST and T/S profile observations into the ocean and sea ice
components using 1950-2010 as climatological reference is applied.
The "i1" and "i2" dcppA-hindcast simulations have been initialised from the 
states of the respective "i1" and "i2" dcppA-assim members.

contribution to CMIP6 DCPP, to be submitted to GMD".

1 Standard ESGF download  

Visit https://esg-dn1.nsc.liu.se/search/cmip6-liu to create a customized wget
download script. 

IMPORTANT: 
At the time of writing (2019.10.03), only part of NorCPM1's CMIP6 output has 
been published to ESGF (piControl, historical, dcppA-assim and some part of 
dcppA-hindcast). See 2 for download instructions for the entire output. 


2 Alternative download through http file server of ESGF node

Obtain wget download script (54 MB) for all NorCPM1 CMIP6 data from 
http://ns9039k.web.sigma2.no/dcpp/wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh
e.g. with "wget http://ns9039k.web.sigma2.no/dcpp/wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh" 

The download script contains one line per output file and the lines can be 
executed individually. Set execution file permission with "chmod +x <script name>" 
prior to execution. 

2.1 Customization of download script 

For downloading a selection of output, we recommend using the unix "grep" command 
to produce customized download scripts (see examples below).

2.1.1 General notes

The file names follow the scheme <field>_<table>_<model>_<experiment>_<variant>_<grid>_<time>.nc  
e.g. ta_Amon_NorCPM1_dcppA-assim_r30i2p1f1_gn_195001-201812.nc. 

To unambiguisly filter the field name enclose the field name with / and _ e.g "/tas_".  

Specify multiple filters (logical "and") with grep by connecting the terms 
with ".*". E.g. 
  grep '/ta_Amon.*dcppA-assim.*i2p1f1' wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh > wget.sh 
will select all monthly ta output from the "i2" set of dcppA-assim. 
Note that the order must follow the above naming scheme. 

Specify alternative filters (logical "or") with "-e" option. E.g. 
  grep -e '/ta_.*1pctCO2' -e '/ta_.*abrupt4xCO2' wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh > wget.sh

2.1.2 Examples 

Selecting all realisation 1 data from piControl 
  grep 'piControl.*r1i1p1f1' wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh > wget.sh

Selecting all "i2" output from dcppA-hindcast 
  grep 'dcppA-hindcast.*i2p1f1' wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh > wget.sh 

Selecting all ta output 
  grep '/ta_' wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh > wget.sh 

Selecting all uas and vas output
  grep -e '/uas_' -e '/vas_' wget_NorCPM1_CMIP6.sh > wget.sh  

Selecting all monthly ta output from the "i1" set of dcppA-assim and dcppA-hindcast
